I originally thought I'd have 3 more weeks before I had to get everything done (get quotes from vendors, order floors, take my time...) but then I got a call that my furniture could be delivered next week! Which was like 3 weeks after it was ordered. Gulp.

So the timetable went into overdrive. I started calling vendors and scheduling measurement appointments back-to-back. Here's the most fabulous gay floor guy with one of the contenders, a reddish birch. I mean, it's the guy that's gay, not the floor.

But ifloor does not do carpet (insert gay joke here) so I end up going with the people that did my hardwood/ceramic/berber in the rest of the house. 10% off for being repeat customer, hardwood in an auburn maple and carpet for the stairs in Sahara. Together it was the same price as just floors at iFloor. So Free Carpet!

Then in my free time (What free time?) I started getting rid of stuff. Less to move and move back that way.
First the de-cluttering. It gets worse before it gets better...

I should've kept track of how many bags went to Goodwill. It was at least twenty. Some things also went to my co-workers, and I even sold a file cabinet for $40!
This was a huge-r project than I thought. I had to clean out closets in the basement so I'd room to relocated my closets from the closets upstairs, I had to clean out and rearrange furniture in the living room to relocate furniture from upstairs. Ditto in the basement...Whew!
Finally, the space is starting to become clear. With only one "Oops!" so far.

Where did it go? Where didn't it go...
Living Room
Kitchen
Basement
And now it's time to take up the carpet. Euchre watches over the project.
Once I get the last three things moved (my bed, my dresser, and the computer desk), I can rip up the rest of the carpet. So far, the closets are done and also the one bedroom. It was quite cathartic. Can't wait for the whole thing to be finished. Then I should have a "move it all back" party.
